LAMMLE, MARY MAJOR

Mary Major Lammle, Age 80, went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2016. She was born in Walpole, Illinois on June 10, 1936 to James and Greeta Johnson Major. Mary grew up in Evansville, Indiana and graduated from Bosse High School in 1954. In 1955, Mary moved to Gibson City, Illinois where she met and married Leland Lammle in September of 1956. Mary and Leland moved to Jacksonville Beach, FL in 1961 where she was employed by State Farm Insurance Company and Betty McNeil Insurance Company for many years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville Beach since 1961 where she taught Sunday school. Mary enjoyed volunteering for Temple Sisterhood Braille Group for several years.
Mary is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leland, a son, Robert Lammle (Carolyn) of Jacksonville Beach, a sister, Patricia Poole of McKinney, TX and two grandchildren, Alicia and Ben. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Tamara, and her sisters, Betty Butler and Jackie Smith and her brother, James Major.
Services to be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1423 8th Avenue North, Jacksonville Beach on Saturday, July 16, 2016.
