HENDRICKS, HAZEL C.

Hazel C. Hendricks, 79, of Atlantic Beach, FL passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Born in Eastover, SC to the late Lee Lancey and Mary Isabell O’Cain Campbell. Ms. Hendricks was a graduate of Appalachian State University, earning degrees in Physical Education and Social Studies. She taught for 37 years, primarily at Oceanway Elementary School, where she was named Teacher of the Year. She was a member of Scottish Chapter #295 Order of the Eastern Star for over fifty years, and a member of the Disciples of Christ Church in Jacksonville.
Survived by her two daughters, Debra (Robert) Fleming, of Atlantic Beach, FL and Tammy (Jon) Strauss, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; sisters, Mary Scanlon and Betty Rye both of Columbia, SC, and Ethel (Richard) Gilbert, of Summerville, SC; brothers, James (Doris) Campbell, of Enoree, SC, and Raymond (Betty) Campbell, of Eastover, SC; grandsons, Bobby (Mary), and Brandon and Brian Fleming; great granddaughter, Lily; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Lancey Campbell, Jr. and sister, Annie May Campbell.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27th in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home.
