DANIEL R. ROUSE

Daniel R. Rouse, age 62, passed away peacefully at his home on May 1, 2016, in Jacksonville, Florida. Dan was born in Champaign, Illinois.  He is survived by his parents, James and Etta York Rouse, his wife, Marie Turgeon Rouse, a sister, Pamela Reichman of Jacksonville, a son, Matthew Cline of St. Augustine, FL, a grandson, Cole Cline, and his first wife, Jeri Cline of Jacksonville. Other survivors include cousins Susan Rouse, Stephen Rouse and Cindy Rouse, as well as an aunt, Dorothy Rouse.
Dan graduated from Western Military Academy in Alton, IL and attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL. His passion was home construction and utilizing those skills, he and his father built homes in Danville, IL. He was also employed by several hospitals in Danville, IL and Jacksonville FL, most recently as a Campus Operations Manager at The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Dan was also an experienced swimming pool designer at Surfside Pools for several years. Upon retirement, his passions included riding his Triumph motorcycle, volunteering at the Jacksonville Humane Society and assisting customers at The Home Depot in the electrical and plumbing departments.
Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Elizabeth Rouse, his uncles, Philip Rouse and John Rouse.
A private funeral with graveside services will be held in the family plot/grave site in Old Atherton Cemetery in Danville, IL. In addition, a celebration of Daniel’s life will be held in Atlantic Beach, FL. The dates for both of these services will be announced at a later date.
