Jacksonville Beach gives first OK to new rules on alcohol sales at restaurants

Tougher rules governing alcohol sales by restaurants in Jacksonville Beach got preliminary approval July 18 from the city council. An ordinance was introduced to target restaurants dubbed "RINOs" (restaurants in name only). Such establishment have SRX licenses, allowing alcohol sales so long as food sales constitute 51 percent of sales, but some have eliminated food service early in the eveningsā€¦
